About the Role
Developing, implementing, and managing the center's security program.
Responsibilities
- Manages and directs the operation of the center's security program.
- Conducts investigations of accidents and incidents to resolve issues and reduce future occurrences.
- Provides written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to appropriate staff.
- Establishes liaison and maintains harmonious relations with local law enforcement agencies.
- Provides supervision, training, assessment, and leadership of security staff.
- Manages and administers a departmental budget and works within budgetary constraints.
- Approves requisitions for security equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Oversees inventory control and maintenance of security equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Plans, organizes, and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with center and ETR policy and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within the security industry, public sector, or armed services.
- Proven track record of building strong relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Working knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting the security role.
- Ability to understand, control, and track direct spending and labor budgets.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven record of sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Hands-on problem-solving approach.
- Ability to remain calm, cool, and collected under pressure.
- Ability to take control of incidents.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Proficient in using computer software such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Must possess or obtain a valid commercial Class B driver's license with a passenger endorsement within three months of hire.

Experience Level
- Three years' experience in military and/or law enforcement, one of which was in a supervisory capacity.
Education Level
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirements on a year-for-year basis.
