About the Role
RES is seeking a motivated Restoration Technician to join their team. This hands-on role involves working outdoors, operating specialized equipment, and making a tangible impact on vital ecosystems. You will gain valuable experience in environmental restoration, including stream restoration, stormwater management, planting, and invasive species removal.
Responsibilities
- Operate specialized equipment including large trucks, UTVs, brush cutters, augers, and chainsaws.
- Utilize GPS mapping systems for navigation and work documentation.
- Apply herbicides using backpack and hand sprayers for invasive species management.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any needs.
- Identify native and invasive plant species.
- Implement invasive species management programs.
- Perform planting and seeding for restoration projects.
- Potentially earn S-130/190 Burn Certification and participate in prescribed burns.
- Work on projects including stream restoration, stormwater management, restoration planting, invasive plant removal/management, and landscape construction.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to walk over uneven surfaces and up/down hills.
- Must be able to climb on construction equipment.
- Must be able to work outdoors and in inclement weather.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Reliable means of transportation to get to the field office.
- Keen interest in natural resources and outdoors.
