About the Role
Gain real-world experience in creating deliverables that support the strengthening of the AI talent pipeline at the Vector Institute and in Canada. Participate in program strategy and design and contribute meaningfully to programming for emerging AI talent to deliver impactful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of project plans, including mapping workback plans, preparing documents, tracking action items, and ensuring timely task completion.
- Conduct research and prepare literature reviews on the current AI workforce landscape from talent and employer perspectives.
- Analyze survey results and stakeholder consultation findings, synthesizing required knowledge, skills, and strategies for AI industry talent into reports.
- Develop a customer journey map and prototype for an application portal to assess and identify prospective emerging AI talent.
- Collaborate with the Research Operations & Academic Partnerships work stream to track key program metrics.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of Emerging AI Talent Initiatives.
Requirements
- Self-identified Black or Indigenous student or postdoctoral fellow (Indigenous ancestry or heritage – First Nations (status or non-status), Métis or Inuit) or a recent graduate.
- Currently in second year or higher, studying at a Canadian university or college, or a recent graduate within one semester of graduation.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset, eager to learn and contribute to high-impact projects.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Familiarity with data cleaning and manipulation (Excel).
- Experience in conducting literature reviews, writing reports, and generating key insights and recommendations from data.
