About the Role

The Data Analytics Intern will gain real-world experience in data analytics and database management, managing and analyzing data from various sources to support workforce development and research excellence objectives. This role reports to the Program Manager, Research Operations and works closely with the Research Operations & Academic Partnerships team.

Responsibilities

Clean, upload, and maintain data in Google Sheets and Salesforce weekly.
Generate data visualizations and/or dashboards from existing data using Microsoft PowerBI and/or Google Sheets.
Assist with diagnosing and maintaining Python data scraping algorithms using Github actions via Scrapy and/or BeautifulSoup.
Conduct comprehensive data analysis of provided datasets, extracting and identifying key patterns.
Assist with automation workflows using Salesforce automation tools and Zapier.
Develop ad-hoc data analytics reports in Google Sheets.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be a self-identified Black or Indigenous student or postdoc (Indigenous ancestry or heritage – First Nations (status or non-status), Métis or Inuit) or a recent graduate.
Must be in the second year or higher, studying at a Canadian university or college, or a recent graduate within one semester of graduation.
Experience using Google Suite (e.g., Google Sheets, Google Drive), Excel and its advanced functions.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Experience managing CRM systems such as Salesforce.
Ability to perform ETL processes on large datasets.
Basic proficiency with programming languages, especially Python.
Experience translating large datasets into actionable insights.
Understanding of data usage limits and constraints (e.g., privacy concerns, challenges with unstructured or unlabelled data).
Organized and efficient with strong problem-solving skills.
