Dominion House Residence Counselor position focuses on providing services to adults with mental illness living in a group home, emphasizing verbal engagement, supportive counseling, and skills teaching. The role aims to help clients achieve stable community living and independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive counseling.
- Provide rehabilitation skills such as teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills.
- Provide crisis intervention and prevention.
- Organize recreation activities for socialization and stress reduction.
- Maintain a healthy and clean environment for clients, ensuring chores are done correctly and assisting with cleaning activities.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Provide transportation to clients using agency vehicles.
Requirements
- Valid and insurable driver's license.
- Must have a personal vehicle to use for business purposes when not transporting clients.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to be organized and have good time management skills.
