About the Role
You will be the technical owner of the digital data architecture, working directly with marketing, digital and analytics stakeholders. You will set the standards for data modeling, pipeline building, and model deployment into production.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data models using BigQuery and dbt.
- Keep the data modeling layer clean, documented, and scalable.
- Own and evolve the data engineering architecture on Google Cloud Platform.
- Build and optimize ingestion and transformation pipelines, including orchestration and CI/CD.
- Ensure the data platform is reliable, observable, and cost-efficient.
- Integrate and model digital analytics data (Google Analytics 4, tag management, campaign, and customer data).
- Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to create dependable data products.
- Support the deployment and operation of machine learning models in production.
- Set engineering standards and provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues.
Requirements
- Substantial commercial experience as a data engineer with a track record of owning a production data platform.
- Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery.
- Strong data modeling skills with dbt.
- Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL.
- Experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow, Cloud Composer, or equivalent).
- Experience with modern engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, infrastructure as code.
- Practical experience with digital analytics data, particularly Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Ability to work independently with business stakeholders and translate commercial questions into technical solutions.
- Eligible to work in the EU.
- Able to contract on a freelance basis.
