About the Role
Empire Merchants North is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support their Accounting team in Coxsackie, NY. This role is crucial for processing and analyzing accounts payable functions.
Responsibilities
- Performs all AP for Trade and Non-trade functions including sorting, scanning, coding of invoices, securing approvals and processing payments.
- Maintains trade vendor EFT schedules.
- Identifies and prioritizes invoices per cash discount potential and payment terms.
- Processes 3-way match for trade vendor invoices.
- Processes check requests.
- Matches invoices to checks and distributes checks accordingly.
- Sets up trade and non-trade vendors, securing and verifying W9.
- Performs 1099 Maintenance.
- Reconciles vendor statements, researches and corrects discrepancies, and follows up on outstanding invoices from vendors.
- Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately using scanning software in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Assists and/or works with company auditors as required.
- Assists with other projects as needed.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
