About the Role
Change Grow Live is seeking a Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinator to join their Newham team. This role involves assessing and engaging service users to ensure they receive timely and appropriate interventions. You will work within various Criminal Justice settings, including courts, probation offices, and prisons, to support individuals in their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Holistic Support: Engage with service users through psychosocial interventions to help reduce disengagement, harm, and associated criminal activity.
- Comprehensive Care: Conduct screenings, assessments, recovery planning, and make referrals.
- Collaboration: Forge strong partnerships with The National Probation Service, Court, and Prison teams.
- Harm Minimisation: Mitigate substance misuse-related harm, reduce reoffending, and guide individuals transitioning from custody to community treatment providers.
- Community Well-being: Work to reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
- Inclusive Engagement: Foster involvement from carers, service users, and the community.
- Advocate for Change: Support service users in accessing essential partnership services.
- Empower Lives: Assist in social (re)integration, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
- Complete assessments, manage the prison release process, support individuals on probation, liaise with courts, and facilitate voluntary referrals from the police.
- Facilitate group sessions.
- Perform data recording with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Requirements
- A strong grasp of substance misuse issues and experience working in similar fields.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in IT.
- Ability to take initiative, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks.
- Good understanding of mental health interventions and services.
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable collaborating with a range of professionals and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage change effectively, always prioritising the needs of service users.
- Understanding of information governance processes and dedication to applying all necessary safeguards.
- Enthusiastic about seeking out learning opportunities and contributing to the development of others.
- Must complete an enhanced DBS check and police / probation / prison vetting clearance.
- Must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship.
