About the Role

The Engineering Sandwich Placement Student will be part of the Design & Projects team within Savills’ Engineering and Design Consultancy (EDC). EDC is a growing team of engineering and sustainability consultants known for success and professionalism, providing technical solutions throughout an asset’s lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to learn and practice engineering skills, including site surveys, MEP system design using modern software, client meeting participation, and report writing.

Responsibilities

Provide input on design strategy and conceptual designs.
Undertake design calculations.
Undertake site inspections and understand its challenges.
Design installations to meet all existing, relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant standards.
Design installations to meet requirements for energy efficiency and low carbon requirements.
Work as part of a team to meet project brief and programme requirements.
Provide assistance and support to other members of the engineering team within the office including vertical transportation, security, intelligent buildings, BACS, etc.
Commit to supporting strategic sustainability policies and our internal environmental programme objectives.
Familiarise and learn about sustainable low energy initiatives and to share this with other members of your team and wider within the Partnership.

Requirements

Demonstrate a strong foundational knowledge and understanding of the profession, the qualification being completed, and the role undertaken.
Enrol and begin active progress towards your qualification, understanding the competencies/KSBs required and maintain an up-to-date record of experience.
Complete all required induction training (including mandatory training on MyLearning).
Has a foundational understanding of the UK business strategy, the team strategy and your contribution towards both.
Adhere to additional requirements in place, set by your division.
Has a clear understanding of their personal brand – office attire, etiquette and team expectations.
Accurately completes tasks on time, with guidance from team members where required.
