About the Role

The Digital Marketing Manager, Japan is responsible for driving digital awareness, engagement, and pipeline within Tanium's top enterprise accounts in Japan. This role executes integrated, account-based digital programs to increase share of voice and generate qualified pipeline for the Japan sales team, focusing on BFSI and Critical Infrastructure sectors, and partnerships with ServiceNow and Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Builds Tanium’s digital share of voice and brand awareness within Japan’s top enterprise accounts, leading with BFSI and Critical Infrastructure.
  • Drives and measures account-level engagement, concentrating spend where buying signals are strongest.
  • Moves accounts through awareness, engagement, and pipeline stages, reporting on account progression.
  • Converts digital engagement into qualified leads and opportunities, meeting or exceeding quarterly pipeline and NARR targets for Japan.
  • Optimizes for conversion rate, pipeline velocity, and account penetration.
  • Plans, launches, and optimizes paid search, paid social, programmatic display, and ABM tailored to Japan segments, buyer personas, and the named account list.
  • Transcreates messaging and creative for cultural, linguistic, and contextual relevance for Japanese enterprise buyers.
  • Integrates digital with Japan field and event marketing for full-funnel account engagement.
  • Leads cross-functional teams and agency partners to deliver integrated campaigns on time and on budget.
  • Tracks and reports account-level KPIs, providing clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Presents results to Japan and global stakeholders, translating market nuance.
  • Owns and optimizes the ABM and intent platform and Japan’s use of the global MarTech stack.
  • Manages the Japan digital marketing budget for maximum ROI.
  • Manages vendor and agency relationships for quality, accountability, and timely delivery.
  • Develops and localizes marketing content including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and email campaigns.
  • Oversees and manages Tanium Japan’s social media channels, creating engaging content.
  • Monitors Japan digital trends, the local digital ecosystem, competitor activity, and Japanese enterprise buying behavior.
  • Tests and scales innovative digital tactics to improve effectiveness and deepen account penetration.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years in B2B digital marketing, demand generation, or field marketing, with a proven record in Japan-wide enterprise marketing roles.
  • Demonstrated delivery of pipeline and revenue outcomes through digital channels.
  • Hands-on expertise across paid search, paid social, programmatic, and ABM.
  • Advanced proficiency in MarTech platforms — Marketo or Eloqua, Salesforce, and ABM/intent tools.
  • Strong analytical skills: campaign reporting, optimization, and presenting insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Native or business-fluent Japanese (written and spoken), with the ability to create, judge, and refine Japanese-language B2B content and creative.
  • Business-level English for daily global collaboration.
  • Deep understanding of Japanese enterprise buying behavior and how to design digital engagement that respects it.
  • Working knowledge of the Japanese digital ecosystem: Yahoo! Japan, LINE, local search behavior, and Japan-specific SEO.
  • Familiarity with the Japan B2B media, agency, and partner landscape.
  • Proven ability to operate as the Japan node of a global marketing organization.
  • Sales-aligned operator who partners closely with Japan field sales on account selection, engagement, and shared pipeline accountability.
  • Enterprise software / SaaS marketing experience is a plus.
  • Cybersecurity, infrastructure, or endpoint experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience marketing to security and IT decision-makers (CISO, CIO, Head of Infrastructure) is a plus.
  • Awareness of alliance- and partner-led GTM (e.g., ServiceNow, Microsoft, regional SIs) is a plus.
  • Regular domestic travel within Japan required, with occasional international travel.
