About the Role
Join Hudson River Trading's Trading Systems Infrastructure team to support the deployment and maintenance of our trading colocation server estate in EMEA. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our global trading operations, ensuring optimal performance and uptime of ultra low-latency systems, automation software, and development tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, automate, and optimize worldwide Linux-based trading infrastructure by planning and executing complex technical projects and tasks.
- Deploy and maintain physical hardware in various remote datacenters, collaborating with networking and datacenter engineers and remote hands teams.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the entire stack.
- Design and implement system installations and upgrades.
- Resolve production-critical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Support benchmarking and tuning of the trading stack.
- Hold vendors accountable for performance and reliability issues during escalations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to cover trading hours and weekend shifts.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience supporting a live production environment, particularly in trading.
- Experience working with bare metal trading servers in remote datacenter sites, including preparing tasks for remote hands engineers.
- Expertise in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux systems, covering hardware, networking, kernel, and applications.
- Significant experience managing and debugging production trading services.
- Project Management Skills.
- Proven ability to manage assigned projects efficiently, ideally using JIRA.
- Strong cross-functional communication and organization skills.
- Advanced shell (bash) scripting experience.
