About the Role
The Senior Attorney will manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation. This role involves providing guidance and oversight to associate attorneys, developing case strategy, conducting complex discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive and class certification motions, leading settlement negotiations, appearing in court for hearings and trial, and mentoring junior attorneys. The ideal candidate is a licensed, highly experienced litigator with a strong track record in complex or class action litigation, who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation.
- Provide guidance and oversight to associate attorneys.
- Develop case strategy.
- Conduct and respond to complex discovery.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Draft and argue dispositive and class certification motions.
- Lead settlement negotiations.
- Appear in court for hearings and trial.
- Mentor junior attorneys on litigation best practices.
Requirements
- Must be licensed to practice law in New York or licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to New York.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation.
- Experience with discovery in the civil litigation context.
- Experience with oral advocacy and appearing in Court.
- Experience with motion practice.
- Experience taking/defending depositions.
- Ability to travel on occasion.
