About the Role
This position manages projects involving the coordination of administrative projects or activities requiring specialized knowledge, under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Manages the design, development, and implementation of projects, including gathering requirements and forming project teams.
- Manages consultant selection, contract negotiation, product approval, and payment administration.
- Develops short- and long-range plans for projects, including estimating timelines.
- Manages, monitors, and reviews contracts and contractors for compliance.
- Coordinates and prepares reports and correspondence for City officials.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to City management.
- Suggests and implements management solutions to address organizational challenges.
- Manages the performance of professional staff in organizational structure review and operations research.
- Assists in planning, directing, and coordinating the department work plan through subordinate staff.
- Provides technical advice and assistance to City management, field personnel, and contractors.
- May provide leadership and/or supervision to assigned employees or project management.
Requirements
- Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and codes associated with project assignments.
- Knowledge of project accounting, methodologies, and project management principles.
- Knowledge of design principles, practices, procedures, and estimating techniques.
- Knowledge of budget policies and principles.

- Skill in adapting, interpreting, and applying guidelines and standards.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers.

- Ability to plan, execute, and control a project, including estimating and reporting metrics.
- Ability to assess and analyze project risks and exposures, identify options, make decisions, and implement corrective actions.

- Ability to resolve conflicts and difficult situations.
- Ability to communicate in oral or written format to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to travel to various work locations for regular work assignments.
- Must provide a copy of DD214 verifying honorable discharge to receive military/veteran interview preference.
- Top candidate will be subject to a minimum 7-year criminal history background check.
- If selected, may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of regular job duties, provided Driver Safety Standards are met.

Experience Level
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience in managing projects
- Team supervisory or Team lead experience in program delivery and implementation at a utility or program implementation firm (Preferred)
- Experience with the Multifamily and Commercial building sectors (Preferred)
- Experience with Building science and energy efficiency practices of both existing and new construction (Preferred)
- Experience Reading MEP drawings (Preferred)
- Field experience and testing of mechanical systems (Preferred)
Education Level
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or major coursework in project management
Salary/Compensations
- $89,880 (Min) to $115,100 (Mid)
