About the Role
Prepare food of consistent quality and assist in kitchen functions. Provide guests exceptional service in order to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service, compliance with corporate/franchise policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Be a team player and willing to assist coworkers with their job duties.
- Provide friendly, professional guest service by taking accurate food and beverage orders, explaining menu items and specials, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Enter orders into POS system, verify accuracy, process payments, and promptly deliver food and beverages with appropriate condiments.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, portion standards, quality guidelines, and guest orders.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked workstations, kitchen lines, buffet areas, and service stations.
- Follow food safety procedures, including proper food temperatures, dating, labeling, storage, rotation, and waste control.
- Operate and clean commercial kitchen equipment, including fryers, grills, ovens, steamers, slicers, mixers, and food processors.
- Monitor inventory, prepare ingredients according to par levels, and assist with controlling food costs and minimizing waste.
- Follow all applicable regulations and company policies regarding food safety, alcohol service, sanitation, and guest service.
- Work effectively as part of a team, assisting coworkers and maintaining a professional and courteous manner in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Handle and transport food trays and supplies safely while maintaining consistent service and quality standards.
- Operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures.
Requirements
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 30lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule with or without reasonable accommodation.
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
