About the Role

The Onsite Dishwasher/Porter supports the Food Team to ensure kitchens, FOH, and microkitchen areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained in a high-volume, fun, and growing office food environment. This critical role leads cleanliness, organization, and safety for the food program.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, dry, stock, and maintain all dishes and cutlery daily.
  • Assist in setting up plates, napkins, and silverware for lunch service.
  • Maintain trash, recycling, and compost stations in kitchen and micro kitchen areas.
  • Clean and maintain client micro kitchens and spaces according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Provide assistance and support to clients and team members as needed.
  • Assist the Food team with lunch service, deliveries, and dishes.
  • Assist the Snack & Drink team with brewing coffee and restocking products.
  • Perform end-of-day closing procedures for the dishwashing area, including sanitizing the dish machine, clearing grease trap solids, and emptying the trash compactor.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in kitchens, commercial, or hospitality facilities.
  • Experience and knowledge of commercial food service dish stations, including operating industrial dish machines and handwashing delicate items or large pots.
  • Attention to detail to ensure all glassware, silverware, and cookware meet strict health and sanitation standards.
  • Reliability and punctuality are required.
  • Ability to work solo in a fast-paced office kitchen environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication, and patience.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact politely with clients and guests.
  • Ability to be a self-sufficient problem solver and make sound decisions on-the-fly.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Basic Food Handler Certification required.
  • Stamina and ability to stand and walk for long shifts up to 8 hours in a warm, humid environment.
  • Capacity to lift and carry heavy loads, typically between 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility and continuous use of hands, wrists, and arms for scrubbing and bending, alongside frequent kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Smartphone needed for communication.
