About the Role

Serve as a liaison between members and the credit union, providing account information, and processing teller transactions. Open accounts, resolve issues, and manage member needs while actively marketing credit union products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome members professionally.
  • Provide prompt and accurate service.
  • Promote credit union products and services based on member needs.
  • Inform members of deals and promotions.
  • Navigate systems proficiently.
  • Respond to member requests, problems, and complaints via phone, email, or mail.
  • Open new accounts and service existing accounts.
  • Set up new account files and provide necessary membership information.
  • Assist with product orders (e.g., debit cards, checks).
  • Manage member requests for transfers, withdrawals, check requests, CD transactions, and line of credit advances.
  • Use the telephone to verify account information and ascertain reasons for calls.
  • Follow up with members to ensure they receive items and can access electronic services.
  • Cancel or upgrade accounts, attempting to retain members.
  • Suggest solutions for product malfunctions.
  • Utilize computer technology to handle high call volumes.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to ensure proper member service.
  • Manage changes in policies or renewals.
  • Support the Credit Union mission through volunteer and community activities.
  • Adhere to all internal/external regulatory policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify lending opportunities when pulling credit reports.
  • Take and enter loan applications, present for loan officer approval, prepare loan closing documents, and close loans.
  • Submit Home Equity Applications and facilitate closing.
  • Follow up with members regarding loans via phone, noting all conversations on accounts.
  • Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, examine for proper endorsement, and enter into computer records.
  • Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals, ensuring proper identification.
  • Receive mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments, ensuring they match balances due.
  • Enter payments properly into the computer.
  • Place appropriate holds on accounts.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totals to proof sheets.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in the cash drawer.
  • Report discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Ensure member information is secure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Credit Union Banking/Services Required
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Computer literacy required
  • Notary Public required within 180 days of hire
  • Existing employees in this role have 90 days to obtain a license
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services and all related Credit Union policies and procedures as well as comply with all State and Federal Regulations.
