About the Role
Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission by delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online businesses. We are looking for passionate engineers to help achieve this mission. This role is within the Microsoft Artificial Intelligence System on Chip (AISoC) Silicon team, focusing on cutting-edge technical environments.
Responsibilities
- Drive facets of high performance, high bandwidth AI accelerator designs.
- Work on verification of Intellectual Property (IP) microarchitecture specification.
- Perform Register Transfer Level (RTL) design.
- Handle System on Chip (SOC) integration, including clocking and resets.
- Conduct Synthesis and static checks such as Lint and Clock/Reset domain crossings.
- Interact with architecture, verification, and physical design teams to ensure design implementation and verification align with specifications.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Requires access to export-controlled information; proof of citizenship or residency will be verified.
- 10+ years expertise in Verification of SoC complexes.
- 8+ years of experience delivering successful IP or Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC)/SOC designs.
- 8+ years of experience in Lint, CD/RDC, Smoke, Synthesis, Timing constraints, Power, Performance, Area (PPA) trade-offs and Post-Silicon Debug.
- Experience with SoC Verification and Integration.
- Experience with Clocking and reset.
- Experience with Complex algorithmic designs for AI usages.
- Experience with Script development.

- USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area)
