About the Role

Develop software for microcontrollers to enable communication between sensors, actuators, and high-level computing systems. This role involves embedded/microcontroller firmware development, hardware bring-up, and contributing to architecture/platform development for a market-ready product.

Responsibilities

  • Design, write, and debug efficient, production-grade code in C and C++ for microcontrollers and Embedded Linux platforms.
  • Integrate robotics middleware (ROS) to bridge high-level compute systems with low-level firmware, sensors, and actuators.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and mechanical teams to define interfaces, integrate components, and ensure system performance.
  • Maintain system documentation, write clean code, and participate in code reviews.
  • Drive the full product development lifecycle, including designing for safety, handling edge cases, and performing root-cause failure analysis.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in C and C++ for resource-constrained and real-time environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and other languages for scripting and automation.
  • Deep proficiency with real-time applications and RTOS.
  • Practical experience in developing device drivers for resource-constrained, mass-produced products.
  • Practical experience with ROS/ROS2 and standard communication protocols (CAN, UART, I2C, SPI).
  • Excellent cross-team communication skills with a focus on technical writing and system documentation.
