About the Role

CORTO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their AI and Automation Team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining APIs for document ingestion and integrations within the Core AI platform, contributing to the next generation of CORTO's products.

Responsibilities

Designing, developing, and maintaining multiple microservices central to document ingestion and integrations.
Maintaining and enhancing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines that connect enterprise knowledge sources with Large Language Models (LLMs).
Prototyping and experimenting with new AI techniques, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
Building and managing scalable cloud infrastructure utilizing serverless compute, event queues, managed containers, and NoSQL/relational storage.
Optimising code and system architecture for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient solutions.

Requirements

Hands-on software engineering experience building RESTful APIs and production-grade software.
Strong foundation in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., C#, Python, Java, Go, or Node.js) and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Solid understanding of software architecture, event-driven designs, and microservices.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL or key-value stores (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis).
Exposure to major cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with or interest in using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development.
Able to work autonomously and take ownership of parts of the product.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proactive in chasing leads to resolve dependencies.
Positive attitude and optimism.
Ability to think outside the box.
