About the Role
Kepler is building the infrastructure layer that wraps around AI models to make their outputs reliable, traceable, and verifiable. We are seeking a Talent Lead to own talent acquisition, focusing on attracting and winning top engineering talent in a competitive market. This role offers significant autonomy and budget to implement unconventional strategies for talent acquisition and employer branding.
Responsibilities
- Own talent acquisition strategy and execution.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and win top engineering talent.
- Build and scale the employer brand.
- Manage and optimize recruiting pipelines, interview processes, and scorecards.
- Source and close senior engineers against offers from AI labs and big tech.
- Design and execute campaigns to win specific individuals.
- Build and manage relationships with potential candidates over the long term.
- Evaluate engineering resumes and identify strong candidates.
- Build recruiting infrastructure from scratch, including pipeline, interview loops, scorecards, and reporting.
- Utilize data to manage and optimize the recruiting funnel.
- Build AI agents and automations for recruiting tasks.
- Participate in candidate debriefs and provide critical feedback.
- Communicate proactively and ensure candidates and teammates receive timely support.
- Manage unconventional recruiting approaches, including travel and building roles around individuals.
- Host events to attract top engineering talent.
- Rethink and refine closing strategies against competing offers.
- Identify and fix process weaknesses that cause great people to drop.
- Determine the optimal mix of outbound, agency, and network recruiting efforts.
- Build out the talent function, including team members, as hiring volume increases.
- Collaborate with strategy & ops and the CEO on business building.
Requirements
- 5+ years in recruiting, with a significant portion focused on technical recruiting.
- Experience in-house at a fast-growing startup with a high hiring bar.
- Proven track record of sourcing and closing senior engineers against top offers.
- Experience running campaigns to win specific individuals through relationship-building.
- Ability to build long-term candidate relationships.
- Skill in evaluating engineering resumes and understanding employer reputations.
- Experience building recruiting functions from the ground up.
- Proficiency in using data to manage and optimize recruiting funnels.
- AI fluency, including building personal AI agents and automations.
- Ability to provide critical feedback on profiles, interview loops, and offers.
- Proactive communication skills.
- Experience adapting to changing plans and ensuring work ships.
- Willingness to try unconventional ideas.
- Ability to work closely with strategy & ops and the CEO.
