About the Role
The Receiving Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring warehouse efficiency and accuracy by unloading inbound freight, inspecting materials for damage or shortages, and delivering products to the appropriate department for the second stage of receiving. This role requires safe operation of forklifts and pallet jacks, strong communication with internal departments, and the ability to support additional tasks as directed by the Distribution Manager.
Responsibilities
- Unload and inspect inbound freight for accuracy, damage, or shortages
- Ensure proper entry of freight locations within SAP
- Deliver materials to designated departments for secondary processing
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving lane
- Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and distribution teams
- Assist other departments with tasks as directed by the Distribution Manager
- Support company values in Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity and being a Company of Choice
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
Skills
- Forklift experience (certification preferred)
- Strong communication skills
