About the Role
PAE offers a 10 to 12-week paid internship program providing hands-on experience in sustainable engineering design. Interns work directly with engineering and design teams on projects ranging from small retrofits to high-profile Living Buildings, gaining exposure to the entire design process.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical load calculations and block loads
- Complete EZ Power crash course
- Draft schematic design narratives
- Conduct NEC reviews
- Research renewable energy technologies including PV, wind, and fuel cells
- Layout, design, and calculate PV systems
- Explore emerging technologies such as BIPV, level III car charging, and CIGS PV
- Utilize CAD and Revit software
- Review general project timelines and overviews
- Prepare and review specifications
- Conduct site visits and prepare site observation reports
- Review and prepare cost estimates
- Manage M/E coordination schedules
Requirements
- 3rd year undergraduate student preferred
- Desire to work in the building design industry
- Passionate about sustainable design solutions
