About the Role

The Assistant Branch Manager supports and assists the Branch Manager in achieving all branch, departmental, and organizational objectives. In the Branch Manager's absence, the Assistant Branch Manager assumes responsibility for running the branch successfully.

Responsibilities

Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Teller and Personal Banker teams.
Ensure operational soundness within the branch, leading operational support of branch teammates through oversight, guidance, and problem resolution.
Mitigate risk consistently.
Facilitate the self-audit program and general quality control efforts to ensure operational integrity.
Provide on-the-job training and regular coaching to promote service and operational proficiency among Tellers and Bankers.
Actively support branch operational needs, including processing Teller transactions and performing all Banker functions.
Support efforts to achieve all service-related objectives.
Operate independently, make sound decisions, and exercise good judgment.
Uphold credit union policies and procedures and champion organizational culture.
Provide direct supervision of the Teller and Personal Banker teams.
Perform duties related to the employee lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance coaching, disciplinary action, and termination.
Participate in teammate work scheduling, timecard approvals, training/coaching, and facilitating meetings.
Maintain ongoing communication with the Branch Manager and/or Retail Management team regarding pertinent information.
Assume all supervisory responsibilities within the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Three years of successful financial institution experience preferred, with a background in branch operations (teller and platform).
Supervisory experience preferred.
Must be bondable.
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends.
Must have or quickly obtain working knowledge of Credit Union’s products and services, policies, standard operating procedures, and State and Federal regulations.

Skills

Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of a personal computer.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Proficiency in the use of a telephone.
Knowledge of 10-key is helpful.
