About the Role
The Detail Designer (Sr.) at Permasteelisa North America plays a crucial role in supporting our design team by transforming initial conceptual designs into working submittal and fabrication documents.
Responsibilities
- Utilize information from System Design Leader/Project Design Manager to create submittal documents, shop, and fabrication drawings.
- Understand project specifications, including typologies, areas, and systems.
- Adhere to project phases determined by the Design Project Manager.
- Coordinate with Design Project Manager for special project conditions.
- Study and develop shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and PMF.
- Be fully conversant with the Groups Design Process.
- Mentor and instruct junior team members.
- Conduct thorough first checks of all work done by team members before issuing to the PDM.
- Supervise and assist with the production of elevation, floor plan, and detail drawings according to the project-working program.
- Report any deviations from the program to the SDL and PDM.
- Ensure derivative design drawings tally with structural calculations.
- Be involved in safety initiatives and programs, applying and following all safety policies and procedures.
- Integrate safety into daily work.
Requirements
- Experience in construction/curtainwall industries.
- Proficiency in Auto CAD and/or Solidworks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Overtime work as required to ensure work schedule compliance.
- Travel may be required to the country where the project may be located or relevant inter-company responsible for the project execution.
