About the Role
SickKids Foundation is seeking a Manager, Legal & Risk Management for an 18-month contract to play a key role in the organization's legal operations and enterprise risk management framework. This role drives legal, operational, and project management activities, supports the enterprise risk management program, and optimizes legal and risk processes.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise standard-form agreements, correspondence, and memorandums in collaboration with Legal Counsel.
- Own and optimize legal intake, triage, and tracking processes.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of legal templates, playbooks, and internal guidance materials.
- Identify and implement opportunities to modernize legal workflows, tools, and systems.
- Conduct research, analyze information, and prepare briefing notes, memoranda, presentations, and communications.
- Manage administrative functions for the Legal department, including filing systems, document management, invoice and expense payments, and calendar coordination.
- Collaborate with various Foundation teams to deliver successful legal services.
- Support the execution and enhancement of the Foundation’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program.
- Drive the development, maintenance, and evolution of the Foundation’s risk register.
- Lead the preparation of Risk Management Committee materials.
- Prepare risk presentations, risk reports, and dashboards for the Senior Management Team and Board Committees.
- Proactively identify emerging risks, assess impacts, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Liaise and advise senior leadership on risk deliverables and problem-solving.
- Champion continuous improvement of risk frameworks, governance practices, and reporting processes.
- Provide project management expertise for cross-functional initiatives.
- Lead the tracking and monitoring of project deliverables.
- Drive structured decision-making, problem-solving, and issue resolution.
- Engage project stakeholders and communicate project updates.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in legal operations or a related field.
- Experience drafting and reviewing agreements and managing contract lifecycle processes.
- Proven ability to drive initiatives, influence stakeholders, and operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
