About the Role
The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises all housekeeping department associates and ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of the hotel, guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and other assigned areas. Coordinates all functions of the Housekeeping department and ensures impeccable levels of cleanliness and upkeep. Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and team building skills with associates, peers and across departments.
Responsibilities
- Directing, interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, plan work schedules, assign work duties of Housekeeping associates.
- Lead pre-shift meetings, communicate arrivals and departures, identify VIPs, delegate room assignments and duties.
- Monitor housekeeping staff productivity and efficiency for promotions or status changes.
- Determine necessary materials, supplies, tools, and merchandise for purchase and stocking.
- Supervise and inspect the cleaning of guest rooms, turndown service, public areas, and back of house.
- Ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, SOPs, and health/sanitation standards.
- Implement emergency training and procedures for guest, staff, and asset protection.
- Issue assignments to staff, reviewing special requests and areas of concentration.
- Issue supplies/goods to staff at the beginning of the shift to control inventory and expenses.
- Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure satisfaction.
- Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquiries.
- Perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain proper etiquette in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by leadership.
Requirements
- One to two years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
- Requires working knowledge of Housekeeping and the hotel's services, policies and operations.
- Requires supervisory/management skills.
- Ability to communicate with guests and staff.
- Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management and guests.
- Ability to inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back of house, and review reports.
- Ability to communicate with guests, on a telephone, and on a two-way radio with associates.
