About the Role
Socure is seeking a Data Scientist (DS-II) to join the Data Science, Client Analysis team remotely in the USA. This role involves developing algorithms, analyzing large datasets, and communicating data-driven insights to support pre and post-sales cycles and drive revenue generation. The position is ideal for a Data Scientist who excels at communicating data stories to diverse audiences and is motivated by contributing to new business growth, with opportunities for incentive bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Analyze massive customer data sets to derive actionable insights and explain model performance.
- Educate and influence stakeholders from a scientific perspective by understanding Socure’s solutions and customer challenges.
- Create compelling data stories to demonstrate how Socure helps customers eliminate fraud, streamline user experience, and manage risk.
- Provide thought leadership and represent the customer's voice in developing new models and products.
- Develop tools and automated workflows to enhance analysis speed, accuracy, and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with Go-To-Market teams to identify upsell opportunities and optimize products through creative analysis.
- Build ML models to explore alternative approaches to existing production models.
Requirements
- Degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in data science, data analysis, or analytics engineering.
- Extensive theoretical and practical understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods.
- Proficiency in writing clean, performant Python code.
- 2+ years of experience working with massive real-life datasets.
- Experience querying relational databases with SQL.
- Experience with cloud tools and technologies in AWS, Azure, Databricks, or GCP.
- Ability to tell compelling stories with data through dashboards, interactive stories, and actionable presentations.
- Capability to explain complex algorithms (ML/AI models) to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort in delivering presentations.
- Ability to thrive in a remote startup environment, set clear goals, and maintain accountability.
- Experience in identity verification and fraud prevention is strongly preferred.
