About the Role
Perform a variety of custodial duties in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures for C&W Services, working under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
- Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas, performing spot cleaning and shampooing as directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills, interior door glass, partition glass, and specified windows.
- Wash and spot clean interior and exterior entrance door glass and trim.
- Clean bathrooms daily, restocking paper supplies, wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, reporting them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and designated collection areas.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps, walkways, and connecting sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic tasks including high dusting, cleaning leather and wood surfaces, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to take direction.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
