About the Role
The Mechanical Engineer will provide support to the operation and maintenance of the plant’s equipment. They will also be responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programs. The Mechanical Engineer, New Graduate will also be a part of the Amrize Build4Growth Program, an extensive, 14-month cement manufacturing learning and development program designed to provide new graduate engineers with foundational knowledge and experience on the main operational areas of our cement plants.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with equipment suppliers and plant staff to ensure successful operation of the plant.
- Monitor reliability-based systems including preventative maintenance systems, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring.
- Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for new equipment.
- Manage preventive/predictive maintenance programs (Inspection, Vibration, Oil Analysis, NDT, thermography, etc.) to ensure optimum equipment availability.
- Analyze and eliminate repetitive problems through root cause analysis, Pareto analysis, statistical review, FMEA, and similar techniques.
- Support and guide sustainable improvements in Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of major equipment.
- Facilitate continuous improvement processes around equipment availability and reliability.
- Coordinate SAP system operations in the area of preventative maintenance routine (PMR) optimization and development with maintenance planners.
- Provide technical support, training, and development for maintenance functions with a specific focus on entrenching reliability concepts within the maintenance group.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience.
- 0-3 years of required work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- 5% travel requirements.
- Self-starter/highly motivated team player.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ('PPE'), including but not limited to respirators.
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
