About the Role
The Ravena cement plant is seeking a new graduate engineer with a background in either process or electrical engineering. This role is responsible for operational improvements in plant production and computer applications for process controls. The New Graduate will also participate in the Amrize US Build4Growth Program, an extensive 14-month cement manufacturing learning and development program.
Responsibilities
- Analyze plant operations and make recommendations for process improvement, including Cost/Benefit Analysis.
- Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
- Prepare computer reports on operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
- Perform tests on operating plant systems to determine equipment efficiencies.
- Assist management in maintaining the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.
- Train shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
- Implement new systems (e.g., TIS).
- Perform ISO Audits and participate in Month End activity reporting.
- Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and exhibit safety behaviors.
- Practice and promote safety, including risk assessment, authorized activities, and appropriate PPE utilization.
- Program CTI PLCs, Ifix HMI, Kiln High Level Control, and Mill High Level Control.
- Maintain networks and provide IT internal support for servers, switches, and virtual programming.
- Manage electrical and mechanical projects.
- Oversee the predictive/preventative electrical maintenance program.
- Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical equipment.
- Prepare engineering scope of work for plant electrical projects.
- Interface with contractors, including quote solicitation, selection, and field direction.
- Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital plan.
- Conduct economic and operation feasibility studies for proposed electrical modifications and additions.
- Maintain a standard set of specifications for consistent application related to modifications or additions.
- Maintain, organize, prepare, review, and revise drawings as required.
- Develop detailed preventative maintenance routines for all plant electrical equipment.
- Research and recommend new PM procedures based on new technologies.
- Use SAP for purchasing parts and services, reviewing work orders, analyzing reports, and managing capital projects related to electrical project management and PM development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of required work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Self-starter and highly motivated team player.
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
