About the Role
Our client is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of their facilities.
Responsibilities
- Clean all vehicles scheduled for use for morning funerals.
- Clean 1st floor entrance and bathrooms, including vacuuming, emptying garbage and ashtrays, and cleaning door windows.
- Clean basement hallways and casket selection room during morning services.
- Clean visitation rooms after morning services, including removing flowers, storing family belongings, vacuuming, cleaning table tops, and rearranging chairs.
- Set up rooms for afternoon calling hours and place flowers on stands.
- Check outdoor areas for debris, paying special attention to the front entrance, and complete shoveling and snowblowing in winter.
- Vacuum upstairs offices and hallways, and empty waste baskets.
- Dispose of trash from all baskets.
- Perform light-duty repairs to building structure and equipment.
- Dust furniture in hallways and clean tabletops weekly.
- Vacuum casket selection room and dust caskets or clean metal caskets weekly.
- Clean the inside of vehicles weekly.
- Clean upstairs bathroom weekly.
- Vacuum stairwells weekly.
- Vacuum basement hallways weekly.
- Sweep and spray water on garage floors and flower room weekly.
- Mop bathroom floors weekly.
- Replace light bulbs weekly.
- Pull furniture away from walls, dust walls, and vacuum monthly.
- Clean window surfaces inside and out monthly.
- Dust corners monthly.
- Wax cars seasonally.
- Clean gutters seasonally.
- Assist with planting annuals and other various chores seasonally.
- Perform snowplowing seasonally.
- Clean throw rugs from entrance areas as needed seasonally.
Requirements
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand without issue.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Light duty repair skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Must be reliable.
- Must have a calm and friendly manner with a pleasant and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work in close proximity to the deceased.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be a good communicator and listener.
- Must maintain good working relationships with co-workers, visitors, and vendors.
- Ability to establish priorities, learn quickly, work independently, and follow direction.
