About the Role
This role is integral to the Key Accounts segment team, managing accounts across various core industries. The Technical Account Management (TAM) team is a global group of identity product experts dedicated to enabling existing customers to succeed. As a Technical Account Manager, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and advocate for key accounts, focusing on developer-focused customer identity architecture, API integrations, hands-on prototyping, and broad deployment strategies across Auth0 and Okta environments.
Responsibilities
- Build deep, long-lasting relationships with customer engineering leads, product architects, and technical decision-makers as their primary technical advisor.
- Masterfully apply technical expertise in Auth0 Customer Identity and developer-first architectures to solve complex identity challenges and influence customer strategy.
- Collaborate with key accounts to design scalable B2B and B2C customer identity architectures aligned with their business and security objectives.
- Hands-on Prototyping & Demos: Build lightweight Proofs of Concept (PoCs), configure test Auth0 tenants, and conduct live technical walkthroughs (such as custom Auth0 Universal Login branding, OAuth 2.0 grant flow implementations, and Auth0 Actions scripts).
- API Testing & Integrations: Utilize tools like Postman to test, validate, and demonstrate Auth0 and Okta REST APIs (executing CRUD operations for users, roles, and application configurations).
- Complex Problem Resolution: Dissect multi-faceted developer and architectural issues, proactively identify technical risks, and orchestrate effective solutions or escalations collaboratively with Customer Success and Engineering.
- Advocate for customer technical needs within cross-functional product and engineering teams.
- Provide best practices, workshops, and technical enablement for customer developers, software architects, and engineering leads.
- Generate repeatable code samples, Postman collections, architectural guides, and strategy assets for the global TAM team.
- Mentor peers, upskilling team capability with a focus on developer SDKs, API integrations, and Auth0 extensibility.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related professional experience (or 4+ years with a Master’s degree), including 3+ years as a Technical Account Manager, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, or Developer Advocate.
- 3+ years in customer identity (CIAM), API security, web/mobile authentication, or modern application development.
- BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Auth0 Certified, Okta Certified, or equivalent industry certifications preferred.
- Deep, practical mastery of modern web authentication and authorization standards, specifically OAuth 2.0 (Authorization Code + PKCE, Client Credentials, etc.) and OpenID Connect (OIDC), alongside standard SAML 2.0 federation.
- Advanced experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and tools like Postman to test API endpoints, manage collections, and demonstrate programmatic workflows.
- Strong hands-on ability to read, modify, or build simple web applications (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, React) to demonstrate authentication routing, protected routes, token validation, and Auth0 SDK integration.
- Solid understanding of B2B and B2C identity patterns, tenant management, social identity providers, enterprise connections, and user migration strategies.
- Familiarity with core Workforce Identity concepts (SSO, SCIM provisioning, SaaS integrations) to support hybrid account requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of speaking fluently with developer teams, software architects, and engineering leadership.
- Comfortable performing live technical demonstrations, API troubleshooting in Postman, and whiteboarding complex system architecture.
- Skilled in setting expectations, tracking account health metrics, and maintaining clear project boundaries.
