About the Role
UD Team teachers are dynamic educators who utilize data-driven approaches in a student-paced, competency-based curriculum. They are collaborative, adaptable, and committed to pushing every student to succeed academically, believing that every student can excel and pass all Regents exams.
Responsibilities
- Co-teach five 55-minute classes.
- Collaborate in an Inclusive Co-Teaching (ICT) environment.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment that promotes student thinking, learning, and independence.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Special Populations and MLL programs and execute required strategies.
- Plan and implement student-centered instruction involving independent and cooperative learning, scaffolding, and strategies for students with IEPs and MLLs.
- Implement Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) using the gradual release model to address individual student needs.
- Infuse skill-building into content using content-area expertise and adhere to the gradual release model.
- Complete Task Instructional Plan.
- Participate in IEP meetings.
- Use various data sources to track and discuss student progress and set growth goals.
- Regularly review student data through an electronic management system.
- Collaborate with teams to write teacher reports.
- Manage student behavior using restorative practices and school-wide PBIS.
- Implement student behavior plans.
- Observe classroom behaviors and develop routines/structures, modifying expectations to meet individual student behavioral needs.
- Communicate with families and stakeholders to support student success.
- Attend a 3-week summer orientation and professional development series.
- Fulfill broader school roles, including mentoring and committee involvement.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work.
- Commitment to the UD Team mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication.
- Commitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issues.
- Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently.
- Must be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a passion for serving at-risk youth, and a sense of humor.

- $71,000 - $115,000 Annually based on years of experience and education.
