About the Role

MR MARVIS is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join their Data & Engineering team. This role will focus on shaping the company's digital platform, working across the e-commerce stack including the storefront, integrations, and data platform.

Responsibilities

Build and improve the headless commerce storefront using Next.js, React, and TypeScript, integrated with Shopify, Sanity, and Algolia.
Design and build an in-house integration platform with durable, observable TypeScript workflows on GCP.
Ensure resilience of business-critical flows, including product data, orders, inventory, returns, and fulfilment integrations across Shopify, Odoo, and a 3PL.
Own architectural decisions and technical delivery for key platform areas, documenting them through architecture docs and decision records.
Collaborate with the data team on contracts between operational systems and the warehouse to ensure alignment between analytics and operations.
Enhance engineering practices, including testing, observability, code quality, documentation, and incident prevention.
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and coaching.
Partner with product owners and stakeholders to balance speed, quality, and business impact.

Requirements

Significant experience as a full stack engineer, ideally in a senior or lead capacity.
Strong TypeScript, React, and Next.js skills, with a solid understanding of modern web application architecture, rendering strategies, and caching.
Solid backend and distributed-systems knowledge, including APIs, event-driven messaging, background jobs, retries, idempotency, and integration patterns.
Comfortable working in a cloud environment (Vercel and GCP).
Experience with commerce, ERP, fulfilment, content, or search systems is a strong plus.
Ability to read dbt models or SQL queries for tracing issues.
Pragmatic mindset, knowing when to move fast, simplify, or invest in foundations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
Coaching mindset, curiosity, accountability, and strong product sense.
