About the Role
The HART Hub (Homeless and Addiction Recovery Treatment Hub) is a low barrier treatment-oriented space offering supports to individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and who face challenges related to addiction and/or mental health. As part of this collaborative and client-centered team, you will work alongside external agencies/community partners, healthcare providers, addiction specialists, and participants working towards reducing barriers, connecting to resources, and supporting access to safe, appropriate, and permanent housing.
Responsibilities
- Meet participants where they are at, build relationships, determine needs, and identify barriers.
- Conduct housing searches and build/maintain landlord relationships.
- Create a housing stock portfolio.
- Ensure units meet bylaws and the building code act.
- Assess cleaning and repairs required in all units.
- Utilize advocacy skills in initial viewings with landlords on behalf of participants.
- Prepare and maintain statistical data to identify trends and develop strategies.
- Work with individuals from diverse populations and cultures from a restorative lens.
- Engage landlords strategically, understand housing market trends, and employ negotiation skills.
- Work collaboratively with community partners to achieve the HART Hub mandate.
- Ensure the safety and security of participants, co-workers, and the community.
- Work effectively alongside colleagues from other community agencies to assist participants in navigating the HART Hub and London’s housing system.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education from an accredited institution or relevant work experience (e.g. social services, real estate, property management, sales, marketing).
- Experience in sales, marketing or real estate is beneficial.
- Excellent knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and Housing First Philosophy.
- Excellent knowledge of the local housing market.
- Intermediate / Standard First Aid & CPR with AED - Level C.
- Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle.
- Proficiency in both official languages of Canada is an asset.
- Requires a clear Police Check with vulnerable sector screening at the applicant's cost.
