About the Role
As an Area Manager, you will lead a team of hourly workers, ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and performance standards are met. You will play a key role in maintaining customer expectations for timely deliveries across our fulfillment network.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
- Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR) to meet business objectives
- Lift up to 49 pounds
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
- Work in environments with variable noise levels
- Work in environments with variable temperatures and weather
- Continuously climb and descend stairs (at applicable sites)
Requirements
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
- Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
- Experience managing a team of 20+ employees
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
- Industry experience in: retail, F&B, military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production or distribution environments.
