About the Role
Owns the reliability, release, and operational control of the BIDS trading platform across production environments in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Accountable for production deployment, incident response, disaster recovery, and the regulatory control framework governing an alternative trading system. Leads a team spanning site reliability engineering and database administration, directing the evolution of hybrid on-premises and AWS environments. This is a hands-on role where the incumbent leads the function and personally executes or supervises production change.
Responsibilities
- Lead production release and change management, owning the end-to-end release process across North American and European production environments.
- Own the operational and regulatory control framework, maintaining the control calendar and ensuring timely execution and evidence of controls.
- Lead and develop the production operations team, setting priorities and building depth within the site reliability engineering and database administration functions.
- Operate and evolve a hybrid production environment, managing on-premises and AWS footprints with consistent practices and leading cloud migration where beneficial.
- Direct the technical response to production incidents, coordinating diagnosis, recovery, and post-incident reviews.
- Own resilience and disaster recovery, planning and leading tests, verifying backup procedures, and maintaining recovery runbooks.
- Keep the platform current by designing and scheduling upgrade programs across runtime, database, and infrastructure layers.
Requirements
- 10+ years in production operations, technical operations, or release engineering within financial services or another regulated environment.
- 5+ years leading technical teams.
- A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
