About the Role
The Regional Clinical Manager (RCM) is a medical leadership role responsible for ensuring providers are well-oriented, engaged, and trained in PM Pediatric Care’s culture, values, and processes. This role involves training new providers, enhancing the skills of underperforming providers, adjusting schedules for training needs and seasonality, and addressing quality or safety concerns. The position is eligible for a performance bonus tied to company and site performance, as well as other KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Ensure on-time progression of new providers through the Universal Provider Training Program (UPTP).
- Drive provider retention.
- Facilitate timely scheduling of interviews and hiring decisions for candidates.
- Manage individual provider performance.
- Foster a culture of quality and safety.
- Collaborate with central support teams for provider onboarding, credentialing, and HR/educational training.
- Provide in-person orientation for new providers covering culture, quality, and office workflow.
- Assist providers in completing the Provider Training Program, including assessments, Bootcamps, skills workshops, lectures, and RESCUE training.
- Review and adjust provider schedules based on staffing reports and training needs.
- Secure backup coverage for provider callouts.
- Respond to medically related patient complaints escalated from providers or urgent calls.
- Review safety reports, investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and coordinate with central teams.
- Oversee region’s quality metrics, provider efficiency, and provider team retention.
- Review candidates presented by central support teams, conduct interviews, arrange shadowing, and provide hiring recommendations.
- Travel to all sites on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
- Respond to medical escalation calls/messages and develop peer-to-peer medical support systems.
- Conduct regular chart reviews for providers (10 charts per review for trainees focusing on medical decision making, guideline adherence, accuracy, efficiency, problem-focused care, and coding; 10 charts twice annually for all other providers).
- Conduct monthly pNPS reviews and collaborate with the SVP of Clinical Standards, Training and Quality to develop action plans for the bottom 3 providers.
- Recommend providers in need of Performance Improvement Plans to the SVP of Clinical Standards, Training and Quality and ROD.
- Provide back-up coverage for Regional Clinical Managers or Regional Medical Officers on PTO.
- Perform 26-30 hours of clinical duties per week based on regional need.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification.
- Licensed in the state where the site is located.
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
