About the Role

Hudson Valley Community College is seeking an experienced Director of the Center for Careers and Transfer to develop and execute a strategic vision for career and transfer services, ensuring they are accessible and responsive to students from diverse backgrounds. This role involves administrative oversight, stakeholder relationship management, and integrating career readiness into the student experience.

Responsibilities

Develops and executes a strategic vision for the Center for Careers and Transfer.
Ensures career and transfer services are accessible and responsive to students from diverse backgrounds.
Provides administrative oversight of office staff, operational policies and processes, budgeting, and assessment.
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Integrates career readiness and career exploration into the student experience.
Develops student development and career and transfer education workshops, seminars, fairs, recruiting events, networking opportunities, and other related programming.
Advises and assists students individually and in groups with self-assessment, career and transfer exploration, planning, and decision-making.
Partners with academic departments, faculty, and campus offices to offer student development, career and transfer programming classroom and programming presentations.
Works collaboratively with HR, Financial Aid, campus offices and students to enhance and facilitate student employment.
Collects and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of programming and resources.
Oversees on-campus recruiting and events for employers and four-year colleges and universities.
Works collaboratively with IR and academic programs on the administration of the graduate follow-up survey.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or higher education administration from an accredited institution.
At least three years of professional experience working at a community college.
Demonstrated commitment to student success, equity and inclusion.
Evidence of innovative and strategic leadership, sound professional judgment, and the ability to develop and implement programs responsive to evolving student needs.
Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated effectiveness in the application of career development theory and college transfer focused on supporting diverse, under-represented populations.
Experience in development of relationships with public and private sector employers and four-year universities and colleges.
At least one year of staff and student supervision and experience with related program development.
Must be currently employed by either HVCC or EOC.
