About the Role
Trunk Tools is seeking its first Founding GTM Engineer to develop the workflow automation and AI orchestration for its go-to-market funnel. This role operates at the intersection of product, sales, marketing, customer success, and engineering, functioning as a systems engineer for revenue generation. The individual will design and manage the internal "AI operating system" that supports all GTM activities, transforming manual tasks into automated systems through AI agents.
Responsibilities
- Own the GTM AI OS from end to end, treating the internal GTM toolset as a product.
- Gather requirements from GTM leaders, prioritize across functions, build, ship, measure, and iterate on the AI operating system.
- Automate workflows across the full funnel, from initial signal to outbound orchestration and post-sale handoffs.
- Build and manage the AI-agent layer for tasks like account research, personalization, qualification, and call summarization.
- Co-own the GTM data foundation and pipeline, shaping and depending on it.
- Evaluate new tools, manage vendor relationships, and recommend stack changes.
Requirements
- AI-pilled and fluent with frontier AI models, tools, API calls, and MCPs, with the ability to create working automations.
- Strong business acumen to analyze GTM problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and identify impactful solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills for clear problem framing, crisp explanations, and translating between technical and commercial audiences.
- A builder's instinct for workflow automation and tool development, enabling rapid creation of systems from business problems.
- A product mindset with the ability to prioritize, scope, and ship effectively for internal GTM "customers".
- Comfort in a fast-paced, ambiguous, execution-focused environment with end-to-end ownership.
- GTM strategy or operations background (RevOps, sales ops, growth) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with AI automation tools like Clay, Claude, Chat, and Zapier is a plus.
- Experience building and deploying AI agents/agentic workflows is a plus.
- Early-stage startup experience, including comfort with ambiguity and lack of a defined playbook, is a plus.
- Direct sales, SDR, or customer-facing exposure is a plus.
- Familiarity with the construction, AEC, or vertical-SaaS industry is a plus.
