About the Role

The Health Program Administrator I will manage administrative and fiscal activities for complex grant awards involving multiple organizations and programs within the Department of Health. Responsibilities include grant and contract management, personnel transactions, budget oversight, and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform grant management activities for medium or large, complex awards.
  • Perform contract management activities.
  • Perform personnel transaction management activities.
  • Provide oversight for the grant budget.
  • Supervise staff.
  • Perform other appropriate related duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in the administration of personnel, fiscal, or other related operational activity.
  • Associate degree in a related field and five years of such experience.
  • Seven years of experience in the administration of personnel, fiscal, or other related operational activity.
  • At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Grant funded position.
  • Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
  • Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time will be required.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location.
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts prior to hire.

  • $4,000 annual downstate adjustment for specific New York locations
