About the Role

The Health Program Administrator II, located under Grants Administration, will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and administrative aspects of large complex grant awards and coordinating with all organizational units across the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH). The incumbent will oversee the budget management, tracking and reporting on Program progress, personnel transactions, and contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee budget management, tracking and reporting on Program progress, personnel transactions, and contract management.
  • Oversee personnel and workflow for processing and tracking personnel transactions, contracts, consultant agreements, purchase requisitions, and other grant-related transactions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of tracking systems, internal controls, and procedures for new program initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison with HRI staff, program staff, and external partners to resolve issues/problems.
  • Oversee the compilation and management of data for progress reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of experience in the administration of personnel, fiscal, or other related operational activity.
  • Associate degree in a related field and six years of such experience.
  • Eight years of such experience.
  • At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of general experience.
  • Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts prior to hire.

  • Experience with electronic federal grant submission and federal applications such as Grants.gov, Grantsolutions and RedCap
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and a large volume of work in a fast-paced office environment

Salary/Compensations

  • $100,379.00 Annually
  • $4,000 annual downstate adjustment (pro-rated for part-time positions)
