About the Role
This position supports USINDOPACOM J4 & J7 located at Camp Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii, enabling effective planning, resourcing, and execution of logistics, movement, and sustainment activities for PACOM Command-Post Exercises (CPX) and Field Training Exercises (FTX) using the Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning process.
Responsibilities
- Ensure unified action within USPACOM, with Allies, and supporting organizations in the planning and execution of Joint Exercises.
- Develop logistics-focused planning milestones, sustainment concepts, support requirements, and scenario injects for all JELC milestones.
- Coordinate and synchronize joint logistics functions including supply, maintenance, transportation, engineering, health services, distribution, and others.
- Perform Sustainment Work Group and Response Cell functions for the Exercise Control Group (ECG) during exercise execution.
- Ensure coordination with staff and other organizations to support the ECG with proper personnel during planning and execution.
- Ensure coordination with staff and other organizations to support CPX with proper facilities and equipment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain efficient protocols, processes, and procedures for exercise planning and execution.
- Lead exercise work group planning meetings with all stakeholders and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) with senior leaders.
- Maintain appropriate OPSEC conditions at multiple levels of classification.
- Maintain associated J4 exercise information data sites and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Leverage appropriate tools in support of the JELC such as Task Management System (TMS), Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS), Joint Training Tool (JTT) and other related databases or systems.
- International travel up to 20% of the year may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelors and ten (10)+ years of relevant experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I complete; two (2) years of experience on a joint operational/strategic headquarters staff accepted in lieu of JPME Phase I.
- Thorough knowledge of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and associated requirements to plan and execute Command-Post Exercises (CPX).
- Understanding of the computer simulation requirements to support a CPX with prior experience the Joint Live Virtual and Constructive (JLVC) federation of simulations.
- Proven experience in an operations management role with oversight of projects and maintenance of timelines.
- Experience in operations planning with US Armed Services, including joint assignments and working with Allies and Partner countries.
- Must understand and have experience with the Joint planning Process (JPP) or equivalent military planning process.
- Excel at communication with demonstrated ability to interact with senior government leadership.
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Must be a current US Citizen.
