About the Role
This position provides leadership and strategic direction for materials management within assigned business lines and manufacturing sites. It involves SI&OP forecast management, resource planning, master scheduling, production planning, materials planning, buying, and inventory planning. The role also serves as a liaison for major projects, collaborating with Procurement and Logistics to align material plans with market demands and commodity strategies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and direct materials and manufacturing planning, production control, and material control functions.
- Develop performance measurements for department functions and set aggressive improvement goals.
- Manage the planning and flow of materials and finished goods to optimize delivery and inventory performance.
- Manage a team of buyers and planners, focusing on productivity, professional development, and career growth.
- Develop and create training plans to maximize workforce capability.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and provide regular feedback.
- Schedule and conduct department meetings, fostering employee engagement and communicating business goals.
- Manage all department projects, ensuring alignment with business initiatives and priorities.
- Support the SIOP process and lead as required.
- Identify, share, and implement best-in-class supply chain practices.
- Develop standard work, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other facilities' Materials Managers.
- Suggest and lead continuous improvement initiatives for the department and others.
- Manage supplier-held inventory programs to improve delivery, reduce lead-times, and mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other facilities and regions to optimize global inventory.
- Serve as the ITC leader for the Materials Department.
- Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.
- Work with manufacturing operations to improve material flow and increase productivity.
- Drive Rigorous Operating Cadence (Tier Accountability).
- Drive and support Oracle and/or other tools implementation and process enhancements, focusing on Planning and Purchasing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA or BS in Business Administration or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience.
- Knowledge of SIOP and production scheduling dynamics.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a controlling role, ideally with an audit background.
- Chartered accountant with strong technical accounting skills.
- Demonstrable experience in implementing and using ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage a varied workload and drive change processes.
- Daily presence in Company’s offices is required, with limited possibility to work from remote (to be negotiated and agreed).
