About the Role
The EMR Support Specialist is a Level-2 Support position within the IT Help Desk, responsible for day-to-day data accuracy and maintenance within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This role involves troubleshooting eCW-specific helpdesk tickets, providing front-line IT support, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency across the EMR system. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, schedule flexibility, and willingness to travel to various company sites.
Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of institutional clinical systems and policies relevant to practice roles.
- Troubleshoots system issues and provides IT support to employees.
- Possesses knowledge of patient education principles.
- Collaborates with other facilities and organizations to optimize system utilization.
- Performs patient panel cleanup and maintenance within the EHR.
- Updates and maintains referring physician records within the EHR.
- Performs NDC (National Drug Code) cleanup and maintenance within the EHR.
- Answers eCW-specific helpdesk tickets and provides front-line troubleshooting support to end users.
- Supports data accuracy and consistency within the EMR system.
- Travels to Oak Orchard Health sites as needed for on-site support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to teach in both individual and group settings.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct data inconsistencies.
- 3-5 years of clinical health care experience including use of an electronic health record.
- Experience in eCW/Medent or NextGen is strongly preferred.
