About the Role
L3Harris is seeking Systems Integration & Test engineers in Rochester NY to work on a dynamic team to develop EO/IR solutions. The role involves SI&T Engineering responsibilities for the development, integration, and test of electro-optic systems for airborne and ground surveillance. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and program management to design, develop, and build high-performance systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop system integration concepts and test plan approach.
- Ensure system requirements are met and evaluate performance measures.
- Perform system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analyses.
- Design, develop, and release custom test equipment (HW and SW).
- Coordinate with Operations for production STE/ATE requirements, automation, and user interface.
- Develop custom test equipment procedures and instructions.
- Manage upgrades to STE for obsolescence/enhancements.
- Maintain library of preferred test equipment/components and common architecture standards.
- Design Qualification program: plans, procedures, and test equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Skills
- MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering)
- DOORS, Jama, and Cameo experience
- Software development for test applications (C/C++, Python, LabView, etc.)
- System modeling using Matlab/Simulink
- Video transport and encoding (H.264, MISB and SMPTE standards)
- Understanding of defense products for the environments and platforms L3Harris supports
- Ability to effectively plan and organize projects and manage priorities
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities
Location

Work Type
- 9/80 schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off
Experience Level
- Minimum of 2 years of prior related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree.
- 0 to 2 years of prior related experience with a Graduate Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
