About the Role
Responsible for the delivery of patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This includes sedating patients, administering necessary medication, and keeping patients informed throughout procedures, while demonstrating empathy and care for their physical and emotional needs.
Responsibilities
- Collect, interpret, record, and communicate pertinent patient care data.
- Utilize collected data to plan and prepare for nursing care.
- Perform patient assessments.
- Formulate and implement nursing care plans.
- Conduct post-operative evaluations of patient response and outcomes.
- Provide direct patient care during procedures to meet physical and psychological needs.
- Continuously evaluate patient response to nursing interventions and modify care plans.
- Participate in the care and maintenance of endoscopes and specialized equipment, ensuring decontamination standards.
- Participate in department functions including staff training, statistics maintenance, Quality Assurance projects, and education.
- Attend staff meetings and annual educational in-services.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- BS in Nursing with 2-4 years of experience preferred.
- AAS in Nursing with 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Current NYS RN license in good standing.
- BLS, ACLS & PALS certification.
- Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Extensive standing and walking required.
- Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Full range of body motion including ability to position and move patients.
- Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards/physical risk.
