About the Role

The Driver Supervisor oversees a group of drivers, monitoring performance and dispatch. This role manages daily workforce functions, ensuring pool compliance, employee relations, driver retention, and safety performance. This leadership role is eligible for an annual 10% bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee 24/7/365 operations, including weekends and holidays.
  • Conduct daily interactions with the driver workforce, including interviewing, selecting, training, and managing drivers.
  • Ensure all personnel are trained and retrained according to operational procedures.
  • Follow up with new drivers on their performance at scheduled intervals.
  • Review manpower needs and ensure proper coverage, managing driver dispatch.
  • Ensure drivers report to work on time and in complete uniform.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to drivers on strengths and areas for improvement using DriveCam reporting and customer feedback.
  • Investigate feedback regarding drivers and safe operational practices.
  • Plan future book-offs and run change assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Ensure all company standards for appearance, training, education, safety, and regulatory compliance are met by drivers.
  • Verify drivers are properly credentialed to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Collaborate with HR to address personnel matters.
  • Work with drivers to maintain good labor relations.
  • Ensure adherence to the CBA for proper handling of the grievance process.
  • Review electronic and/or paper DOT logs.
  • Monitor on-time performance in real-time.
  • Manage employee performance and determine appropriate disciplinary actions, including termination if necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1+ year in operations experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to exercise considerable diplomacy, judgment, and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with company and union officials.
  • Safety and Workers Compensation experience preferred.
  • Labor relations experience preferred.
  • CBA experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, Windows applications, and e-mail.

Salary/Compensations

  • USD $48,200.00 - USD $68,700.00 /Yr.
