About the Role
STV is seeking a proficient Design Engineer – Structural/Bridge to perform design of new bridge components and/or their rehabilitations, quality assurance, and mentor entry-level staff for highway bridges, railroad bridges, and transportation facilities structures in New York.
Responsibilities
- Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit design, and transportation facilities.
- Participate on Design Build Projects and Pursuits.
- Perform Quality Assurance on Transportation Projects.
- Contract Document production, including drawings and specifications.
- Bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD.
- Review of construction phase submittments.
Requirements
- Perform design calculations, develop plan details, quantity take offs, specification writing and other technical report writing.
- Experience in analysis and design of bridges, including rehabilitation design.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Specification Writing.
- Cost Estimating.
- Mentoring.
- Quality Assurance.
Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Master's degree is preferred
- PE is required
- NY is preferred
- 5 plus years of experience
- Knowledge of New York agencies and projects: MTA, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDCC, Port Authority of NY
