About the Role
This hands-on role supports the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of a Mississauga warehouse, working closely with warehouse employees, drivers, and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer orders, inbound shipments, inventory records, and documentation. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and balancing administrative responsibilities with operational support.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage daily customer orders, ensuring accuracy and on-time shipment.
- Receive inbound shipments into systems and maintain related documentation.
- Monitor open orders and proactively follow up on issues impacting shipping or customer requirements.
- Greet drivers professionally and provide clear direction on safety and warehouse procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform stock checks.
- Prepare and process daily operational reports and maintain accurate documentation and databases.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and support timely solutions.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when entering, reviewing, and processing information.
- Adhere to Dempsey's registered ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Follow and promote HACCP/FSEP food safety principles and procedures.
- Participate in and support the facility's 5S Program and general workplace organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Participate in required training courses, webinars, and seminars.
- Promptly report incidents, safety concerns, and non-conformances to management.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and safety-focused workplace.
- Support special projects and perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of related administrative, warehouse, logistics, or operations experience.
- Experience working with ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and/or Synapse is considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
